I pray for you. My friend losed 10 kilo. Then she has been pragnency( hamile kaldi). May God give you a healty baby
The correct form of the sentence must be: My friend has lost 10 kilos. Then, she conceived a baby.
to lose: it is an irregular verb.
a kilo vs 10 kilo(S): plurals are important.
To conceive means hamile kalmak :)
A general information on in vitro fertilisation (IVF in short), this is tüp bebek tedavisi in English. I have never seen "tube baby". It is very likely to be a Turkish way of translation like sentimental meatball* :)))

Good luck girls, you are all doing an amazing job:)

Nope, to conceive exactly means hamile kalmak not dogurmak. To give birth can be replaced with to deliver, they are both the same and mean dogurmak in Turkish."She conceived a baby" means "she gave birth" :)
yes you are right the formal usage is like that but we never use it like that at home :) I don't know why though. I can ask mom when she wakes up. by the way I am American Turkish bilingual and we use it like that. (bu arada anlatım bozukluğu olabilir Türkçe'de de yapıyoruz ya bazen İngilizce'de de yapıyoruz doğal olarak :)Nope, to conceive exactly means hamile kalmak not dogurmak. I send you a link, click on that in order to confirm what I said above.
Here it is : http://www.baby2see.com/conception_calculator.html
Look at the title over there : When was my baby conceived ? This is in passive form, if you wish you could rephrase it by saying: "When did I conceive my baby?"
Cheers.
Actually it is not to give birth, it is to get pregnant."She conceived a baby" means "she gave birth" :)
I would like to suggest some of the things that improved my English. I graduated from an Anotolian High School which gives 7 years of English education which includes a 1 year prep school. Then at university I even had foreign teachers. But still something is missing. Still I couldn't read without a dictionary.
One day one of my instructors at university told me that I don't have to know the meaning of all the words in a text to understand it. If I got the general idea, it is ok to skip the meaning of some of the words. Because the texts I read looked terrible where most of the words are looked from a dictionary and had Turkish meaning written next to it.
Then I discover fanfiction. Reading something fun and written not so formally was great. My choice was Harry Potter universe. And after a couple of years I read the last book in English. Couldn't wait for the translation.
Then I started to watch my favourite tv-series with English subtitles, later after some years with no subtitle at all.
Hope you will also improve your language.
