Anna dantellerle ilgileniyor. Ve soruyor İzmir'de sizden dantel alabileceğim bir yer var mı? Orada bir klübunuz mevcut mu diye...
Bende onu diyorum bu konuda biri yardımcı olabilir mi bu bayana : ) Anna bu başlığı takip edecek ve yukarıda ki yorumlara bir bak ...

İyi güzel amma, kadının orjinal üslubuna bakarak, kadın kk yı artık nerden bulmuş ziyaret etmiş bilmiyorum ama sanırım kk yı aslında reelde var olan böyle kadınlar derneği tarzı binası filan olan bi kulüp sanmış burayı da kulübn resmi sayfası gibi düşünmüş.
Kendisine şöyle bi cevap yazabilirsiniz.

Unfortunately Kadınlar Kulübü is only a cyber website and has actually no place to visit in reality in İzmir or anywhere else.
You can easily find laces all around the city since it's quite common around there, or in touristic stores. You can also simply consult the store dealers to find the models you're interested in.

I still don't think there are any actual women clubs where you can find women with laces, cause it's much like a "friendly activity" in our lands. İ mean, women gather up in their houses to chat, serve dishes and share their rumors along their laces models.
İ thats why insist that you could visit touristic stores and consult the dealers about where to find them.

thanks Filan, I am not able to speak Turkish so I will find rather difficult to communicate with shop keepers, unless they know a bit English...I will look around definitely, I was just hoping that someone can advise me regarding address of women lacemaking clubs in Izmir. I would like to meet with the crafstwomen and took some photos of them during work...any idea where I can find a shop, where there are women lacemakers selling?

Hmm..just like in my country. I am interested in women craft and doing some research in Poland on bobbin lacemakers. At least in the past they used to meet in homes of relatives and neighbours making laces collectively. Now they prefer to do this alone. They also have shop and services for tourists, teach children and other women from cities...I though it could be similar in Turkey:) I mean that there is a place to go and see them during work..

Good news, i just found something that could help you a bit.
Still, there are no women clubs but good news. There are workshops throughout the country!
Almost in every neighbourhood, there are free workshops and courses for women to improve their personal skills aiming to train them for a job. Its like ewomen's support and training center i mean.
İ searched a bit and found the ones in izmir. Women get together to learn, to be trained free of charge. İ cant watch it right now but this might be what you're looking for.

I dont know in which neighbourhood you'll stay but in Konak district i found some training center addresses. You dont have to worry if you choose to go to a center which also has an english course, they'll be happy to talk to you. :)
Here, in this link, are the names and phone numbers of centers with laces workshops, i think Gültepe, Melahat Yılmayan and Saadet Mirci education centers have both laces and english courses.
You can visit these in Konak district during your stay.

But i also need to warn you that these workshops work by season, you need to ask a turkish friend of yours to call their numbers and ask if there are laces courses at the moment during your stay.

I have just returned from Turkey and I am astonished by the number of interesting things there, First of all - you have lovely fresh food, which can be accessed on the bazars, secondly you have absolutely friendly and open people, who are ready to help and do not expect any tips for that:), thirdly, yes! Indeed I found laces on Kemeralti in Izmir. I bought some handmade decorated scarf from bazaar and hope it is original, as there are many fake ones. Unfortunately I did not manage to meet any women in clubs, but I saw plenty of them on the streets, decorating their scarfs with made by self laces. Absolutely beautifully made. Whomever I was approaching and talking to, was proundly showing me her work, I guess then that this is something, which women are famous from in the Aegean region. I found lady even in the museum, who was making some decoration for table cloth from wool, and she was a visitor waiting for her family, who was still watching exposition. So..yes. Impresive. And the best was woman selling roses in Konak - she allowed me to take picture of herself with scarf with lace, but I had to buy from her rose after. Not sure how much I should spent, It cost me 2 liras..acceptable for my budget. Thank you for your support. My next visit will be to rural areas, as I heard that there are all village of lacemakers around Izmir.

Its really nice to hear that you liked your visit to izmir. Yes, all turkish people are just like you described. İts also nice that you got laces samples and scarf. İt seems your visit was spent quite traditionally. :)
The rose's prica is ok. Not that expensive.
Next time you can visit other cities and dont forget to see the un-traditional parts of the country too. :)
